Turtles on the Coast: Oman

The piggies decided to go to Oman only after a visit to the embassy to get extra pages in their passport (they only had one left) and once they were set up with a friend of a friend for a free place to stay (because Oman is horribly expensive and there are no hostels).

The first day they went to the grand mosque
.

.

Then they hung out with an Omani guy, Hamad, friend of their host
.

.

And helped their host, David, shop for a camping trip. That's where they discovered this gem: western products made more acceptable to a conservative audience
.

.

Camping: They left Muscat their second day in Oman and drove south to Sur where they went camping on the beach.

.

.

The wind was too strong so they tents didn't stay up
.

.

.

.

But they found a baby sea turtle!

on their way back they tried, "karak," a tea famous in the Gulf. But they weren't crazy about it....

they also tried traditional Omani food where you sit on the floor and eat from a giant platter with your hands
